I must say that I was pleasantly surprised to have had such an unusual crowd last Saturday (05/28/2011) at The Bar 10 Doors. Not only was it a different place but the reception from the regulars proved to be quite refreshing. More surprising was seeing my parents and brother and sister present for the show and actually partying into 2 AM!
I sang a very Mexican traditional song, "La Llorona", for the first time in public, and although the limited monitor sound did not let me elaborate on the vocals I had planned, I was very pleased with the reception from the crowd. Thank you all that were present for that. Along with other favorites like "Me Han Pedido Que Te Olvide" (still not recorded), I enjoyed giving you my acoustic interpretations of ZT songs like, "Zamantara" & "Con Mi Luna". You can hear these songs as they were recorded by the band by clicking on Zamandoque Tarahum.
Sometimes it's all about timing! Speaking of timing, I think it is time that I introduce you all to my next gig coming up July 10th, 2011. I have been sketching the set as it will be a highly digital display of other songs of mine along with some of the favorite songs I already do acoustically.
I will finish the full implementation of the Brazilian Pandeiro into my acoustic show, as it is most pleasing to my ears as I sing and get into certain songs, and it also serves me as a "crutch" as far as keeping time musically.
I will continue to post little notes in my blog to keep you updated about the preparation for 07/10/2011 show. The first one was to make a visual sketch of the floor set up. I will scan and post those sketches very soon. Stay tuned and thank you so much for listening, reading, my page!!!
